Dear xxx Chen We are happy to announce that you have been granted a tuition fee reduction for your study period at Umeå Institute of Design. The tuition fee reduction corresponds to a full coverage/100 % of the total fee. This tuition fee reduction is valid for your entire study period, provided you fulfil the requirement of at least 75% credits earned per semester. This means that the Umeå Institute of Design’s scholarship is never disbursed in actual money instead only as a reduction in the tuition fee. The following is a checklist from now up until the start of your studies at Umeå University: Notify us via email, before April 27^th, if you accept or decline this scholarship. We advise you to start the visa application process right away since getting a visa can be very time consuming. More information about the process can be accessed at: http://www.migrationsverket.se/info/151_en.html You should also begin your search for accommodation as soon as possible as it can be difficult find accommodation in Umeå. As a new international student at Umeå Institute of Design we can offer you accommodation through our International Housing Office (IHO). The IHO offers single occupancy rooms in student dormitories in various residential areas not far from the University campus. More information about our residential areas can be found at this webpage: http://www.umu.se/english/education/accommodation/student-housing To register your interest in accommodation from the IHO, please send an e-mail to the IHO staff before June 10 via housing@adm.umu.se. Failing this deadline, you will be responsible for arranging housing yourself. If you, for any reason, wish to decline the tuition-fee reduction, inform us as soon as possible so we can offer this opportunity to someone else.
